Collection: Dreaming Stories
Dreaming stories, known as Alcheringa by the Aboriginal people of the Illawarra, explain the creation of the land, culture, and laws. These stories have been passed down through generations and include teachings from the creator spirit Biamie and his son Duramulun, who taught law and custom during the Dreaming. Coomaditchie Elders continue to share these local stories with children through oral tradition and art. The following stories have been adapted and illustrated by young artists from the Ngaramura Project.
