Tynan Lenihan is a proud Yuin/Dunghutti man and a promising young artist from the Coomaditchie community. He is the son of artist Shane Brown and the grandson of Aunty Lorraine Brown, one of Coomaditchie’s most respected Elders and senior artists. Surrounded by art and culture from an early age, Tynan’s creative journey has been shaped by the knowledge, guidance and stories shared within his family.
His work draws on the rich cultural legacy passed down through generations, as well as the influence of his coastal upbringing. Tynan’s paintings reflect a growing understanding of his identity and connection to Country. Each piece blends natural talent with cultural insight, offering stories that honour his heritage and speak to the strength of community.
As Tynan’s practice continues to evolve, so too does his voice as a young cultural leader. Through his art, he shares narratives that celebrate who he is and where he comes from, helping to carry forward the knowledge and spirit of his people.
