Meahala Langlo Brown
Meahala Langlo Brown is a proud Yuin and Murruwarri woman and an emerging artist from the Coomaditchie community. As the granddaughter of senior artist and cultural leader Aunty Lorraine Brown, Meahala has grown up surrounded by art, storytelling, and strong family connections.
From a young age, she was encouraged to paint, learning through observation and hands-on guidance from her grandmother and other family members. Her artistic journey has been shaped by these close relationships, as well as by the cultural knowledge and values passed down through generations.
Meahala’s work explores themes of women’s experiences, family, birth, and connection. Her precise dot work and thoughtful compositions reflect both technical skill and emotional depth. Each piece carries a sense of identity and story, speaking to the strength and resilience of Aboriginal women.
As she continues to grow as an artist, Meahala brings a fresh perspective grounded in tradition. She represents the next generation of Coomaditchie artists—creative, connected, and ready to share stories that honour both heritage and lived experience.
